CBX Restaurant Booking V1.1.8 Released with New Features

We are happy to release CBX Restaurant Booking V1.1.8 with some cool new features and bug fixing. In this blog post we will try to explain what is new and what is fixed.

If you didn’t try the best Restaurant booking plugin yet, try the free core version.

New Feature: Templating and Template Override

Template feature was introduced previously but it was not flexible which means before template override was possible using only hook which is more complex. So, in this release we improved the template feature and template override option is available. In core or addon plugins there is a folder called “templates” which has most display views.

Most frontend views supports template files. By default plugin’s template/theme files loaded from core plugin’s templates folder wp-content/plugins/cbx-restaurant-booking/templates
To override any file from theme please create a folder named cbxrbooking in your theme or child theme folder. then copy any file from core plugin’s templates folder to that folder in theme/child theme, please keep the same name and same folder structure. All addon follows same template system and from addon plugin’s templates folder you can copy any file and put in the theme/child theme’s cbxrbooking folder

Bug Fix: Cancel Booking

Cancel booking was not working properly when any time was set which as been fixed in this release.

Elementor Widget

We introduced Elementor page builder widget for booking form. Now it will be easy to add booking form as widget via elementor page builder and see live preview.

New Excel Import Plugin

Before we used PHPExcel php library in pro addon and frontend addon which makes the plugin fat as that library has lots of file. In this release we removed this library from addons and core.
We replaced it with it’s latest version which is called “PhpSpreadsheet”. But difference is this time we didn’t include this library into core or in addon but we created separate plugin so that we can add the latest version of the php library and distribute as wordpress plugin.
